The NPV Pass/Fail test model was introduced by the FDIC to provide a streamlined, financial analytical method to determine the cost benefit of a loan modification. Some of these variables include Cure Rate, months to an REO sale, Home Price Appreciation, Disposition Costs, and Redefault Rate.
